Appreciation Meter and Achievements for Patience

We all know charts don't tell the whole story. meters can't record good attitude and intuition. there is no numeric value for anticipation. i dps in 25 mans now and i have to fight the urge to view the damage meters as anything more than.... an interesting perspective. wowebstats only give you one, ONE account of the fight. it records pure data, and that's it. which is ok, as long as you realize that it's not god - it is not the final judgement, your value as a player does NOT rest on those numbers.

which is why, i dream of a chart that measures: personality, good sportsmanship, personal growth and improvement, and special catergories for "Who Stepped off of DPS to Heal Someone," "Most Effective Sundering," "Biggest Martyr/Sacrifice for Raid Success." who kept the mood light? who was the most encouraging? let's measure that. it would be incredible if the best performers, number-wise, were ALSO the top scorers in cooperation and good naturedness. now THAT is a MVP, for sure. and really, i'm so pleased to admit, that my guild has several of those.

aside from raiding, i'd like some achievements for pure patience. i see in the pvp achievements, things like, Win One Million Warsong Gulch's, Kill An Impossible Amount of Enemy Players While Carrying A Flag While Under The Effect of Beserker Without Ever Dying in a Match in Less Than 6 Minutes. i notice that these pvp objectives are ACTION based. kill, cap, recap, kill, return, kill, run fast. sadly, in order to win certain bg's (all but............... 1?) some poor souls are going to have to stand by a pole and wait. it's called "defending," but it's actually called "The Most Thankless and Boring Job in a BG." and no one wants to do it. it doesn't matter that wins kinda, i dunno, DEPEND on those "defenders." now, more than ever, players have more reason to abandon the banners at bases so they can fulfill their "DO THIS" achievements. the last time i stood at the Lumber Mill for what felt like hours while trying not to fall asleep i really felt i deserved some sort of achievement for simply standing still.

i dunno, it was pretty difficult making myself stay there, by myself, miles away from all the extra bonus points from sport kills. just me and the squirrels, stable hands and random chickens. leaning on my mace like a cane, shifting my weight from one foot to the other. *yawn.* but as pathetic as that seems, it's not nearly as horrible as seeing a base undefended. SO! i know what would really wake me up and inspire me to remain stationary: a nice glowy KACHONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "Maebee has earned the achievement, "You Win Some, You Wait... A Lot." congrats, maebee! woohoo!!! awesome! then i'll earn the title, Maebee The Patient. yeah! let's do this! i mean, let's not do anything. rockin!
